These past four days have been a celebration of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. For 60 years the Queen has reigned Great Britain and across the United Kingdom we have honoured her duty and service with Jubilee parties and with the waving of flags. For me, watching the celebrations and the wonderful Jubilee concert made me not only proud of my British heritage but it also filled me with emotion. I believe that although it was a celebration of the Queen's work it sent a message to the whole of the United Kingdom of the importance of community, friends and family. We all came together to celebrate the Queen but in doing so we all came together to celebrate each other; we were truly united.
Occasions like this remind me of the good in humanity and also the wishes we all make. We wish for many things but the most precious things we could possibly wish for are sometimes right in front of us. I love my family and my friends and people who love and my wish is to be reminded everyday of the good in life. I wish that I do not take the wishes that have already come true for granted. What is your wish?
thank you for your lovely celebratory entry into my wishes challenge. I've been watching much of the footage of the celebration on tv, it's wonderful.

PS. please know that blogger has changed the word verification and it's become quite difficult to read. It took me 5 tries to get it right. Unfortunately, normally I just wouldn't comment. I hope you're not experiencing the loss of comments.
Very nice sentiment and so true. Sometimes we just need to really appreciate what's right in front of us instead of wishing for....whatever! visiting from IA
ReplyDeleteI agree, these are tough word verifications and really kind of unnecessary - I've never used it and never had any spam comments - they're easy to turn off....
ReplyDeleteI love how you tied this all together. And especially love the sparkler!:)
ReplyDeleteHello thank you for your comments :)
ReplyDeleteI do not understand blogger has changed the word verification? what does this mean? Thank you for your time and thoughts!
Although I live in the States, I also celebrated with my British (virtual) friends. It's been fun to see all the celebrations and watch the patriotism shine through all the muck. This has been an exceptionally good year, I think.
ReplyDeleteI love the sparklers and the wishes you put forth. Awesome post.
YUMMY! A lot of us Americans love all things royal...DarlaG
ReplyDeleteIt means you need to go back to your settings and turn off word verification. When we post a comment it goes to a word verification box that we then have to type in order for our comments to get posted.
I have loved reading all about the British Celebrations in the blogs and watching it on TV here in the states. I really love what you said about Wishes. We tend to get what we want and then wish for more. I think it is good to assess our wishes received and find a level of contentment. Nice post!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your comments everyone, it means a lot.
ReplyDeleteI hope I have sorted the word verification now and that there will be no future problems, thanks for making me aware :)
