Record Store Day
This is my first year to celebrate record store day with my very own beautiful record player.
I have a huge passion for music as I'm sure many people do, but I really do love it! :)
I love the melodies, the harmonies, the voices that come with music, I love the lyrics, the heartfelt meanings and the storytelling that comes with music but most of all I love how personal it is and yet communal too.
An artist can write a song and own it and it's theirs- their personal song! Then, it gets transformed the minute someone else hears it- it becomes the listener's song!
Music is personal for me; songs can mean so many things to me, for some songs the lyrics feel so personal it's as if I've written them myself. Music evokes emotions, feelings and memories. It is powerful. Music and songs can reveal a lot, it can be an insight into a person and that's why I will not show my playlist to anyone hahaa!
but anywho, back to record store day....Vinyl and record players.
I love the pureness and simplicity of a needle on a record playing a wonderful sound. It's so easy to download music these days and to listen to everything at your computer, but nothing beats a record- the case it's in! the artwork it supplies! even the smell of the paper!
Enjoy your records everyone :)
"Music is an important part of our culture and record stores
play a vital part in keeping the power of music alive"
- Chuck Berry
Inspiring words are powerful when put to music!

I have a musician friend who says music is the universal language. I know a lot of people who hung onto their record players because they agree with you that the vinyl has a pureness unlike any other. This is a lovely challenge entry, and quite thought provoking.
